How do I join Chisholm Baptist Church?
Chisholm Baptist Church is a voluntary association of baptized believers in Christ who have covenanted together to follow the teachings of the New Testament in doctrine, worship, and practice. The membership shall consist of persons who have accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord, giving evidence of a change of heart, who have obeyed Him in baptism by immersion, and have adopted the views of faith and practice of this Church.
Candidates are accepted for membership by a majority vote of the members present at any regular calendared meeting of the Church, after being counseled with by the Pastor, staff, or deacons. All such candidates shall be presented to the Church for membership in any of the following ways:
By profession of faith and for baptism.
By promise of a letter of recommendation from another Baptist Church of like faith and order.
By statement of faith if a candidate comes with a prior conversion experience and baptism by immersion and having adopted the views of faith and practice held by the Church.
By proxy, when the person(s) desiring membership cannot, for valid reason, present themselves for membership, they may be presented by a member of their family or close friend.
Are there activities other than regularly scheduled services?
Yes, we have weekly bible studies in homes. You can contact our offices or email the pastor for more information. We have a bible study that meets on Monday nights and a women's study that meets on Thursday nights. There are monthly Men's breakfasts and quarterly Women's ministry events.
Do I have to be a member to come to Sunday School classes?
Absolutely not! Our Sunday School classes are designed to help anyone learn more about the Bible, our members, and our church. Everyone is invited and welcomed to come join us for Sunday School.
How should I dress to attend your services?
Please come in comfortable attire. We welcome all comers to join with us in worship.
What kind of music do you sing?
We have a blended music service. We have piano and we have a choir. We will occasionally use other instruments that help in our worship experience, but we work to make all we do musically enhance the worship of our Lord.
How can I get involved in the ministry there?
We believe the local church is a living organism. We are made up of all our various parts. Each part is necessary to accomplish the ministry God has for us. You may be a part of our Body of Christ. Come and see where you fit.
What are the Church's Beliefs?
We believe that there is one God eternally existing in three persons:
the Father, the Son, and the Holy SpiritWe believe that the Bible is God's written revelation to man and that it is verbally inspired, authoritative and without error.
We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, death on the cross to provide for our salvation, bodily resurrection and ascension into heaven, present intercession for us, and His return to earth in power and glory.
We believe the person and deity of the Holy Spirit, that He performs the miracle of new birth in an unbeliever and indwells believers, enabling them to live a godly life.
We believe that man was created in the image of God but because of sin, was alienated from God. That separation can be removed only by accepting through faith alone, God's gift of salvation which was made possible through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
